Parcel Identify

The user will have the ability to identify parcels and retrieve the appraisal information.  When this layer is visible and the user clicks on a parcel, a new and separate Web browser will display the Brazoria County Appraisal District (BCAD) parcel record for the subject parcel.  For this function to operate, ATS will rely on the existing BCAD Web interface to display the parcel information.  The image below represents how the results of this process would look to the user.  In order for this to function properly, the GIS parcel feature will need to have a database attribute containing a valid parcel account number.

Park Identify

The user will have the ability to identify the parks displayed in the map and retrieve the information regarding the parks.  When this layer is visible and the user clicks on a park, a new and separate window will display containing attribute information about a particular park.  The City will be responsible for developing the Web page file that ATS will link to and display in a separate window.

Council Identify

The user will have the ability to identify the council districts and retrieve the information regarding the council district.  When this layer is visible and the user clicks on a council district, a new and separate window will display minimal attribute information about the council district.  Within this new and separate window will be a hyperlink that will direct the user to the City’s Web page that pertains to the council district.

There is currently no attribute information stored in the GIS polygons that represent the council district boundaries.  ATS will add a few attribute features to these council district polygons in the GIS.  It is anticipated that there will be between 3 and 5 attributes added.

School Identify

The user will have the ability to identify the school districts and individual schools assigned to a point selected on the map.  Within this new and separate window will be a hyperlink that will direct the user to the each school's Web page.

These school information pages will not be created by ATS as part of this scope. The City will create an attribute field on the school features to contain the pages to which users will be directed for each school and district.

Locate Nearest Hydrant

When a single address point is selected; this tool will highlight the nearest hydrant using a blue hydrant symbol and display the distance between the two.  The map will be centered and zoomed to show both the address point and the nearest hydrant.  The nearest fire station will also be identified via a pop-up data window that contains minimal attribute information about the fire station.

The City will need to provide a fire station layer or feature class within the GIS along with the appropriate information (EMZ, fire station address, contact, phone number, etc.).  The fire station layer will automatically turn on when this function is executed.

Measure

The measure tool supports the measuring of lines and areas. Solid red line segments are drawn by the user to measure distance. The results of the distance measurement will be displayed in feet.

In order to calculate the area, the tool will close the line segments using a red dashed line.  As the user adds additional segments the dashed line will be redrawn to close the shape.  The results of the area measurements will be displayed in both square feet and acres.
